Smart Storage Kits

Catalyst Energy Technologies (CET) is a U.S. based company focused on developing and providing a series of intelligent energy storage packages referred to as Smart Storage Kits (SSK). The SSK is a break-through product and is intended for the utilities, power marketers and on-grid commercial users for load shaping (storing off-peak power and using it during peak periods), added reliability and arbitrage, and for reducing generator fuel consumption in off-grid applications.

Control of Stored Energy

Utilities, power marketers and energy services companies opting to incorporate the SSK into their power network can control the charging and discharging of their SSK and aggregate numerous individual units to create a sizeable and tradable energy asset. These assets can be dispatched using any desired protocol to maximize their value relative to the trading opportunities or other factors impacting the real-time electricity markets. Operators of off-grid generators can use the SSK to drastically reduce their fuel and maintenance and firm up their supply from renewable energy resources.

Cost Effective

The relevance and timeliness of distributed energy storage are at unprecedented levels today. CET’s concept allows on-grid SSK users to store cheaper off-peak power and use or sell it during peak periods when electricity is more expensive or use the storage to store the output of solar panels and use this and other renewables resources in a more predictable and reliable manner. In off-grid remote locations where there is a dependency on diesel generators, CET’s proprietary system can reduce fuel and maintenance costs by more than 50% without changing the power use profile.
